| Just when he’s needed most, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny
Depp), that witty and wily charmer of a pirate, is trapped on a sea of
sand in Davy Jones’ Locker. In an increasingly shaky alliance, Will
Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) and Captain
Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) begin a desperate quest to find and rescue
him. From exotic Singapore, to World’s
End and beyond, from Shipwreck Island, to a titanic battle, this
adventure’s filled with over-the-edge action, irreverent humor and
seafaring myth and magic in this final chapter of the Pirates Of The
Caribbean trilogy. |
Braveheart won five Oscars,
including
Best Picture and Best Director for star Mel Gibson. He plays William
Wallace,
a 13th-century Scottish commoner who unites the various clans against a
cruel English King, Edward the Longshanks (Patrick McGoohan). The
scenes
of hand-to-hand combat are brutally violent, but they never glorify the
bloodshed. There is such enormous scope to this story that it works on
a smaller, more personal scale as well, essaying love and loss,
patriotism
and passion. Extremely moving, it reveals Gibson as a multi talented
performer
and remarkable director with an eye for detail and an understanding of
human emotion. |
Following the original epic by
Homer, Andrei Kanchalovsky's translation was good trying to depic the
entire
Trojan War in about thirty minuites. Along with the wonderful role
playing
by the actors Armand Assanti (Odysseus) and Greta Scacchi (Penelope),
the
special effects were a bit low-budget. The rest of the cast includes
Isabella
Rossellini (Athena), Vanessa Williams (Calypso). The production was
shot
on very beautiful location in and around the Mediterranean, making
lovely
visual experience. |

| Arthurian legend, in which Lady
Guinevere (Julia Ormond) is torn between her love for the noble King
Arthur
(Sean Connery) and the passionate knight Sir Lancelot (Richard Gere).
As
the story opens, Guinevere's lands are under attack by the evil knight
Malagant (Ben Cross), and she must choose between marriage to Arthur
and
the security of Camelot, or encouraging the affections of Lancelot, who
has heroically rescued her from a potentially lethal attack.

Robin Hood portrayed by Kevin
Costner
is in the new role for the '90s. This is a highly entertaining
adventure
movie, very Hollywood, but very well-rounded and realized. With great
actors
such as Christian Slater, Daniel Newman, and Kevin Costner, it is very
good movie with romance, action, and violence in one! The portrayal of
King Richard's Crusades is believable, even despite the lack of
accents.
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio added much romance in the film as
Marion. |
Starring: Kiefer Sutherland,
Charlie
Sheen. The musketeers face fun, action and adventure at every turn in
this
fabulous remake. Very entertaining and wholesome swashbuckling
adventure-comedy
which promises to entertain viewers both young and old. |
