2 cups butter or margarine
1 cup sugar and
1/3 cup honey
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons lemon juice
5 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons crushed hard candies
- In a mixer or food processor
mix butter and sugar until smooth. Add
honey, eggs and vanilla.
- Sift together flour, baking
soda and salt. Add flour mixture to butter
mixture and form the dough.
- Wrap and chill the dough
- Roll out the dough and cut
shapes with cookie cutters. Then cut out
areas for "windows" or roll dough and cut shapes with some open spaces
and put onto cookies.
- Place the cookies on a well
greased cookie sheet.
- Fill the openings with
crushed hard candies.
- Preheat the oven to 350º
F (180º C).
- Bake cookies for 8-10
minutes or until golden.
- Let cookies cool for 5
minutes before removing them from the cookie
- Let cool completely on wire
