European Amusement & Theme Parks

Theme and amusement parks have been established in the Europe for centuries. The oldest amusement park which has survived intact to the present day is famous Tivoli Gardens, in Copenhagen, Denmark.

This world famous amusement park opened on August 15, 1843 and it was called "Tivoli & Vauxhall". Tivoli's founder, Georg Carstensen (b.1812-d.1857) obtained a five-year charter to create Tivoli by telling King Christian VIII that "when the people are amusing themselves, they do not think about politics". more>

The seven parks of the group are: Six Flags Holland in The Netherlands, Six Flags Belgium and Bellewaerde Park in Belgium, Walibi Lorraine, Walibi Rhône-Alpes and Walibi Aquitaine in France and Warner Bros. Movie World in Germany. With seven parks in four European countries (Germany, France, The Netherlands and Belgium) and 5.5 million visitors in 2003, the group StarParks reaffirms its key position as the third largest theme park group in Europe after Euro Disney S.A. and the UK based Tussauds Group.

Mystery Park - This is a one of a kind adventure park, which presents the unexplained and yet very real mysteries of the world. It is a completely different holiday and leisure experience in breathtakingly beautiful landscape in Interlaken between two lakes and at the foot of the snow covered Alps of the Bernese Oberland. Designed by Erich von Däniken, it consists of seven pavilions, each of which explores a great "mystery" of the world. The Panorama Kugel is the central pavilion, topped by a 41-meter high sphere, from which the park's grounds can be seen. The Kugel also contains exhibits of von Däniken's works. All Mystery's attractions heavily advocate the idea of Alien visits on Earth. Erich von Däniken is well known to advocate alien influence on Earth and write sensational books about the subject.
