Did You Know?

Ice is the most inexpensive ingredient in the bar and the one that can add the most pleasure to any cold drink. Ice not only chills your drinks, but it adds to the taste and dilution which brings many cold beverages into balance, marrying the flavors and softening the spirits in your drink. Make your ice cubes out of distilled water, especially if you live in an area with unpleasant tap water.

Plan for 20 ice cubes per person for a four to five hours party. Keep in mind that ice left in the refrigerator can pick up odors and flavors from items stored with it, and these can be imparted to the drink you are making, so make sure it is always fresh.

Use ice liberally, but make sure it washed first. Washing ice is practical and aesthetic because washed ice cubes come crystal clear and do not crack or cloud when liquids are added, which will give your drinks more eye appeal.
